The locals say when a young girl could become pregnant out of wedlock she would be escorted by the father and brother who would take her up the falls and push her down the cliff to die there.

The Kisiizi water fall is located on Kyabamba River a few meters from Kisiizi hospital in Nyarushanje subcounty of Rukungiri district in south western Uganda. Kisiizi falls comes through a small forest and water falls down over a 30m tall cliff into a gorge with water continuing to flow as a river pouring into lake Edward. There is a church of Uganda founded hospital, “the Kisiizi Hospital constructed in 1958”, nursing school, Primary and Secondary schools just a few meters from the falls.
