After breakfast, depart Kigali for the scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, a journey of approximately two to two and a half hours through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a comprehensive briefing on the rules and guidelines of gorilla trekking. You will then be assigned a park ranger and a specific gorilla family to track for the day.

The trek through the lush forests of Volcanoes National Park typically lasts between two and eight hours, depending on the location and movement of the gorillas. Along the way, watch for a variety of bird species such as the long-crested eagle, stonechat, cinnamon-breasted bee-eater, grey-throated barbet, African marsh harrier, common moorhen, and paradise flycatcher.

Once the gorilla family is located, you will spend up to one unforgettable hour in their presence. Observe these magnificent mountain gorillas as they feed, rest, groom, and interact with one another, while the playful young ones add lively energy to the group. Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Kigali Airport

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting out on a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park. These lively and playful primates are found in the bamboo forests of the park, and tracking them offers a different yet equally rewarding wildlife experience. The trek usually lasts between two and four hours, during which you will have the chance to observe the monkeys as they leap through the trees, feed, and interact within their group.

After the trek, return to your lodge for a short rest or early lunch before beginning the scenic drive back to Kigali.
