“Empowering lives. Restoring dignity. Building hope across East Africa”.
Arcadia Hope Foundation is a non-governmental organization rooted in the communities of Uganda and the wider East African region. Born from the same commitment that drives Arcadia Safaris, the Foundation exists to ensure that the benefits of tourism and local development reach those who need them most.
We work with needy children, orphans, widows, widowers, and the elderly — believing that every person deserves a life of dignity, free from extreme want. While our support reaches vulnerable people of all ages, we place special priority on children and orphans, knowing that investing in the next generation creates the greatest lasting change for families and communities.
To provide free access to basic necessities, quality education, and medical support for needy children, orphans, widows, widowers, and the elderly in Uganda and neighboring communities — with a particular focus on giving children and orphans the foundation they need to thrive.
A future where every child can learn and grow in safety, every orphan finds support and opportunity, every widow and widower can rebuild with dignity, and every elderly person can age with care — supported by a compassionate community that values shared progress.

At Arcadia Hope Foundation, we turn compassion into practical action. We focus first on giving needy children and orphans the education, care, and opportunities they need to build a better future, while also providing essential support to widows, widowers, and the elderly. Through basic needs, healthcare, education, and community empowerment, we work to restore dignity and create lasting change in the communities we call home.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty. We sponsor school fees, uniforms, books, learning materials, and related costs so that children and orphans can stay in school. We also support mentorship, scholastic programs, and practical care that helps these young lives develop skills, confidence, and hope for the future. Protecting and educating the next generation sits at the heart of our work.
We supply food, clothing, bedding, clean water access initiatives, and essential household items to families and individuals facing severe hardship. This immediate relief eases daily pressure and creates space for longer-term stability — especially for households caring for children and orphans.
Access to healthcare remains a critical gap. We facilitate medical treatment, medicines, health check-ups, and emergency support for children, orphans, widows, widowers, and the elderly who cannot afford care. Preventive health awareness is also part of our outreach.
We provide targeted assistance that addresses both material needs and social isolation. This includes food packages, medical help, and community connection programs. Supporting caregivers and older community members strengthens the environment in which children and orphans grow.
Beyond immediate relief, we invest in longer-term solutions: skills training, small livelihood support, and initiatives that help young people, women, and families generate income and become more self-reliant.

A cornerstone of our work is the commitment of Arcadia Safaris, which donates 10% of booking proceeds to Arcadia Hope Foundation. Every guest who travels with Arcadia Safaris directly contributes to these programs. We also welcome individual donations, corporate partnerships, and in-kind support from friends of the Foundation.
Community-rooted: We are from these communities and remain accountable to them.
Child- and orphan-centered within a holistic framework: We prioritise the next generation while caring for the wider vulnerable circle that surrounds them.
Dignity-centered: Support is given with respect, never in a way that diminishes the recipient.
Transparent & accountable: Resources are directed where they create measurable impact.
Collaborative: We work with local leaders, schools, health facilities, and other organisations to maximise reach.
Responsible tourism aligned: Our work reinforces the principle that tourism should leave communities stronger.
Arcadia Safaris hosts thousands of travelers across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania each year. Through the Foundation, a portion of every journey helps transform lives on the ground — especially the lives of children and orphans. Guests are invited to learn about responsible travel practices and, when appropriate, to engage with community projects in ways that are respectful and meaningful.
We promote cultural respect, the use of local guides and artisans, and the principle that tourism revenue should benefit the people who call these destinations home. Diversity and inclusion remain core values — opportunity should be accessible to all.
