10 Day Best of Uganda Safari

This 10 day Best of Uganda Safari is a tour package that takes you through some of Uganda’s most stunning national parks and allows you to experience the country’s vibrant culture. Uganda is a country located in East Africa and is known for its incredible nature, wildlife, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes. This tour package has been designed to give you an authentic experience of Uganda, taking you through a range of landscapes, from the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park to the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

During this trip, you will have the opportunity to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo, as well as gorillas and chimpanzees which are found only in this region of Africa. In addition to wildlife and primates, you will also have the chance to explore Uganda‘s vibrant culture, with visits to traditional villages, local markets, and encounters with indigenous people.

More so, this adventure vacation trip will take you through some of Uganda’s most stunning national parks, where you will have the chance to see an incredible variety of wildlife and experience the country’s vibrant culture. You will start by visiting the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and then head to Murchison Falls National Park, where you will go on game drives and a boat cruise to see wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles.

Then transfer to Kibale National Park, where you will go on a chimpanzee trek and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for more game drives and a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. You will then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla trek and cultural encounter with the Batwa people.

 

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Your Hotel in Kampala.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by Arcadia Safaris guide/driver who will welcome you to Uganda “The Pearl of Africa”. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your booked accommodation. In case you have had an early landing in Uganda, you may opt to go out for a free city tour with our guide.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our guide/driver from your hotel in Kampala  and driven to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you will pass through the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is the only place in Uganda where you can see endangered rhinos in the wild. You will have the opportunity to take a guided walk to see the rhinos and learn more about conservation efforts to protect them.
After visiting the sanctuary, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is located in the northwestern part of Uganda and is named after the Murchison Falls, a spectacular waterfall on the Nile River that is one of the main attractions of the park. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax and enjoy the park’s beautiful surroundings.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise to the top of Falls.

On day three, after your breakfast you will start with an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. You will set out in a 4×4 vehicle with your guide, looking for wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and more. The park is also home to over 450 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well. You will explore the hidden gem of the park taking the different tracks of Victoria, Albert and Queens’s track while on the game drive up to the delta region where there is a lot of concentration of hippos and different aquatic life.

After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the Murchison Falls. The boat ride is a great opportunity to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. You will also get a chance to see the falls up close and take some amazing photos. Later after your return journey of the boat you will drive back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – 10 Day Best of Uganda Safari.

On day four, after your breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls and drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you through some beautiful countryside, and you will have the chance to see traditional Ugandan villages and markets along the way. Kibale Forest National Park is located in the western part of Uganda and is known for its chimpanzee population. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking and visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary ,then Later Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

On the fifth day, after your breakfast you will go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. You will start with a briefing by a park ranger who will explain the rules and regulations for trekking, as well as the behavior and characteristics of the chimpanzees. You will then set out on a guided hike through the forest, looking for chimpanzees and other primates such as colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and more. Once you locate a group of chimpanzees, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing them. After the chimpanzee trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the Swamp which will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects. Then after you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, along the way you will have a stopover with a food outlet for lunch and after embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is located in the western part of Uganda and is known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, and more. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise Along Kazinga Channel.

After your breakfast you will start with a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will set out in a 4×4 vehicle with your driver guide, looking for wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, and more. The park is also home to over 600 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well.

After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The boat ride is a great opportunity to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of bird species. You will also get a chance to see local fishermen at work and learn more about their traditional fishing techniques.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – 10 Day Best of Uganda Safari.

On day Seven, after the breakfast you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will embark on the journey which will take you through some stunning landscapes, and you will have the chance to see traditional Ugandan villages and markets along the way. You will view the different part of the country side with captivating features that will capture your mind and leave memories with you. Eventually you will sign into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda and is known for its population of endangered mountain gorillas. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa cultural encounter in Bwindi, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After your early morning breakfast, you will go on a gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will start with a briefing by a park ranger who will explain the rules and regulations for trekking, as well as the behavior and characteristics of the gorillas. You will then set out on a guided hike through the forest, looking for a gorilla family. Once you locate a family, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing them.

After the gorilla trek you will return to the lodge for lunch and have some rest. After regaining and refreshing yourself, you will have a cultural encounter with the Batwa people, who are indigenous to the forest and have a deep knowledge of the ecosystem. You will learn about their traditional way of life and participate in some cultural activities. Later in the day, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park in the afternoon and you will check into the booked accommodation to relax from the long day, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Lake Mburo National Park – Morning Game Drive and Night Game Drive in the Park.

On day nine, after your breakfast you will start with a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. You will set out in a 4×4 vehicle with your guide, looking for wildlife such as zebras, impalas, Topis, buffalos, and more. The park is also home to over 300 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well. After the game drive, you will go back at the lodge and have lunch.

Night Game Drive – 10 Day Best of Uganda Safari.

Then go for Night Game drives in Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda are the most ideal for you. Notably known as the only park where you can spot an exceptional number of impalas than in any of the other Savannah parks.

These game drives will also give you a wonderful experience for extraordinary sightseeing, viewing of captivatingly diverse wildlife species. Night Game drives in Lake Mburo National Park are such fulfilling wildlife viewing experiences. With a lot of wildlife animals to see. Through a network of game tracks tourists are able to see animals. Ranging from Zebras, Impalas, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, hyenas, waterbucks, elands. Oribi, hippos, crocodiles, reedbucks and many others. Then after, you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Horseback Ride & Travel back to Entebbe International Airport – 10 Day Best of Uganda Safari.

After Breakfast you will head for the horseback ride for less hours. To see the animals at close range while on the horse after which you will head back have your lunch meal and check out to start return journey to Kampala arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport for your onward journey. This marks the end of your 10 Day Best of Uganda Safari and you will depart with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s incredible wildlife, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture.
